Books: about Winson Green area by Gary Smith

I'm brand new to this forum and quite new to any kind of detailed look at Brummy history. I found Gary's books in my Mum's collection and found them really great to read alongside an historic map https://maps.nls.uk/os/6inch-england-and-wales/ . I am simply staggered by the breadth and scope of...

    Crisp family of Erdington

What a sad story. I reckon Harriett must have been an interesting woman. She never married, lived alone as far as I can tell 1862-1881+ being a shopkeeper and huckster at 65 Aston Rd. I imagine she moved into the pub when her father died. I think her mother died not long after.

    Brick Kiln Lane, Erdington

I am writing this two years on but I have been kindly led here as I am related to William Crisp the landlord of the Three Tuns back in 1871-1882 approx. He died in Oct 1882.

    The Golden Cup Livery Street

Wow, this is amazing, thankyou so much. Turns out there are other publicans in the family history too. William Crisp and his wife Eliza were in charge of the Three Tuns in Erdington 10 Brick Kiln Lane but that address doesn't seem to exist in that location anymore. 1871-1882.

    The Golden Cup Livery Street

I have an ancestor John McHale, who in the 1881 census was listed as living at the The Golden Cup which would be around 70 Livery St in Hockley. He and his wife Bridget were the Licensed Victuallers. Does anyone have any recollection or details about this pub?
