hello,
im looking for a researcher to quote me for help finding a relative. Born in 1907 James Ganley, to my great great parents, thomas and Betsy Ganley. I can’t find any of them in the 1911 census and by 1921 my grandad was born and his younger brother, Betsy is with her mother and the...
indeed. It is quite exciting to have a story to tell, even if it isn't a happy one. now only if I could find his brother... I started on him in the hope he would cross paths with my great great grandad....
I looked in all the newspaper articles I could find on findmypast that contained Williams name but didn't find anything useful. how big could the area of been at this time? I might just have to accept that its really likely to be him but won't ever know for sure, Thanks for your help.
I thought so but wondered if there was something to prove it either way.... Im. not sure my mum will be too pleased by this but at least I can show her a photo of him from the police record.
Thanks - I have seen that. Im trying to ascertain if my William (the one living with James and Ellen) is the same William as reported in the press and the criminal records.
Hello all,
Im looking into William Ganley b1867/8. I have him with his parents (James and Ellen) in 1881 and 1891 census at 17 court 7 house (milk street????) and 5 house 5 court Upper trinity street respectively. Where I need some points is verifying if 19/20 year old William in 1886 was...
That discounts my Thomas from those two records then. there are no links to Coventry as far as I can tell within the wider family and this Thomas is younger….
oh the plot thickens.
thank you sooooooo much for all your help on this….
Thats complicated. I have seen his military record posted on Ancetry and have lifted the below however I have been told it’s unlikely to have this many service numbers and may be multiple Thomas ganleys’ . There is also a milk street Thomas Ganley around the same time…. the family historian...
Quite possibly. Upper trinity street is in the area of a few streets the family stick too.
in 1891 his address was 15th 5 house upper trinity street, St bartholomews, Aston, Birmingham
I believe it to be wrong. i have information that indicates James. a Family history i paid helped me with that but at the Moment can’t afford to spend hundreds via this route…
Perhaps I need to look at the time lines to see if the court appearance match the missing times….
I wish I could go back in Time and see.
from your help I’ve seen a photo for the polic record so I might be able to use the descriptions him from his military I take and see if they match…. Exciting…..
I have no idea… any tips on how to find out?
my granddad told my mum that when his mum died in 1930 his dad did a runnerback to Ireland. my mum also said she was always told he was a wrong en but nothing else. Apparent from James Ganley saying on one census born in Ireland I have found no...
