    Calthorpe Road

19 Calthorpe Road is currently to let to a sole occupier. It is described as a stunning four-storey, self-contained period office building, set within beautifully landscaped ground. I imagine many of these houses were built as dwellings in the days of large families and servants? [Calthorpe...

    Great Western Arcade

I was pleased that Peter Forson the men's hat shop survives, now in its 11th year. I bought myself a Stetson cap for the summer. Peaky Blinders has been good for business. GWA has its own website these days with some interesting pictures. https://greatwesternarcade.co.uk/about-gwa There are...

    Calthorpe Road

It is hard to discover land ownership in England, but many of these fine properties like 36 Calthorpe Road are leasehold and I think is simply being refitted after a commercial let to a medical data research company. I have an inkling that Calthorpe Road is part of the Calthorpe Estate which...

    Uplands Cemetary Smethwick

I agree Bardess, the maps we posted are of Uplands. I can't find one for 'Thimblemill Cemetery' on the other side of Thimblemill Road. It is certainly worth exploring there too.

    Uplands Cemetary Smethwick

Welcome JCutler. This map was posted to an existing Uplands thread. I don't know if it will help. There is an area for cremations, but I know many cremated remains were scattered on existing graves. There used to be an office at the extension called 'Thimblemill Cemetery' you could try there...

If anyone is mobile then https://www.scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk in Bradford is the place to see historic cameras. All the best photographs have gone to the V&A. The quality of a good lens and plate camera was outstanding. I would like to see a decent photography collection on display in...

More on the Lancaster Watch Camera here. Rare Historical Photos Someone has a men's version on EBay for £42K!! The petite lady's version is really scarce. The Woodman New Canal Street

On sunny days young people will sit outside on the benches and tables. I'm not so sure about the numbers though and I only visit the Woodman these days if there is an event in the upstairs room. I think that some young people drink sparingly or not at all.
