Lea Village GP from 60s Mirfield Surgery - Poolway Medical Centre

Dr Caines joined the Mirfield Surgery in Lea Village for sure as my Dad followed him from the House that is now a children's nursery. But there was another Mirfield Surgery at Scholars Gate. Dr Goldstein was the Doctor that moved to that address. It’s so confusing. I was just trying get...

Lea Village GP from 60s Mirfield Surgery - Poolway Medical Centre

Hello, yes she succeed Dr Goldstein and my records should have just moved seamlessly as I didn’t move anywhere. But my records appear to be missing in mid 2000’s and nothing before 1990. It’s just very strange. I have requested my medical records but it’s taken over 12 months and they are not...

Lea Village GP from 60s Mirfield Surgery - Poolway Medical Centre

Thank you for this info. I don’t remember a name being on the house but Dr Goldstein appeared before the move to Mirfield Surgery Scholars Gate. I wonder if the move is more 80’s. When does Mirfield Surgery appear? I know Dr Caine either started or joined Mirfield Surgery practice but...

Lea Village GP from 60s Mirfield Surgery - Poolway Medical Centre

I am having trouble finding my original GP from the 60's and think his name was Dr. Cane or Caine. There was a GP that joined this practice Dr. Goldstein and they worked from Lea Village Surgery/not sure of the name - it was a house initially (this is now a children's nursery). I am not sure if...

    Parkinson Stoves & Blowlamps, Stetchford.

The Jone’s Sisters (Ada, Mary and Lily) worked at Parkinson Cowan Stechfird in the 40’s. My Mom was one of them and I’m trying to find out more and if there are any photos of the factory and people who worked there. It would be lovely to hear if anyone remembers them.

    Parkinson Stoves & Blowlamps, Stetchford.

I’ve found out my Mum and sisters worked for Parkinson Cowan from around 1941. Is there any way of finding old photographs or information about the company. It would be lovely to see staff photographs. My Mum was only 14 years old and took her Mum to the interview with her - she was very shy.

    52 Dinglemead, Kings Heath

I’ve just been told today that my Mom and Dad lived at 52 Dinglemead when they got married back in 1948. Im not how long they lived there but my two brothers were born there so that means at least until 1954. However I cannot find this address on google maps. I can only assume that the...

Toy shop on Lea Village back in 1970’s

I was born in the late 60’s so mid 70’s I remember going to Dr Caine’s (it was an old house - which is now a nursery) and the Lloyds chemist was opposite. Just walk straight over the road and then walk further along over the road and the toy shop was one of the three highlighted in post before...

Toy shop on Lea Village back in 1970’s

Sorry, I don’t remember the shop being there as the chemist has always been there since I was a child. I thought it was one of the three shops below. I think it was either Fattys party or Glamour eyezz. any ideas?

Toy shop on Lea Village back in 1970’s

Also I remember the pet shop where there used to be a wind up piano and a monkey in a cage. I had long hair as a child and was left outside and the monkey grabbed my hair and my sisters were screaming for Mom to come and save me. I was always weary of that monkey after that day.

Toy shop on Lea Village back in 1970’s

I have fond memories on visiting the toy shop on the Lea Village when I was a child and it’s been gone years now but the shop is still there and I pass it everyday and it makes me think of what it was called. Does anyone remember the shop it was near the island and I remember going lots of...

    ZODIAC TOYS in Chelmsley Wood

I loved going to Zodiac Toys shop as a child and being told to pick out something for a birthday or Christmas. It was magical and we’d spend hours in there if we could. It was a small shop but managed to squash so much in there. I will look at the website you have provided to go down memory...

News of help in future to those seeking graves (for C of E)

This is exciting as I’ve been searching the graveyard at St Peters Netherton and as it so overgrown couldn’t find the grave. It was like a jungle and we tried our best to ask the church had records but never heard back. Thankfully about a month later we went back and all the long grasses had...

    William Enoch Rowland Adams 1848

On 1871 census it shows as Roland Adams but it’s 1846 and the first two children are there. I’m just wondering if it’s the same man. Or if I need to start looking for William Enoch Frank Rowland 1848. my tree has become complicated as time has gone by. I had hoped for this to become easier...
