You are spot on with this info and the pic is where my friend was born.
is there a way we could do this in messenger? Are you on Facebook?
I have more I’d like to ask but feel I should do it one on one.
Do you or your mother remember a Helen Clarkson that worked at Winn’s Cafe also known as the Black and White Cafe in the mid 60s?
Helen also worked at the Custard House and The Avenue.
i am doing ancestry research and would appreciate any help at all. If you jnow someone else that might know...
I am most grateful for your reply! Would you know the names of any of the butchers there around 1963-1964? Maybe an apprentis?
Also, did you know the Clarksons that lived on Blake Lane? John Clarkson had a karate school.
Hi, Deb, You are an angel for sharing this. Not sure if Woodcock is the right one but am sure going to explore! Every little tidbit helps. I appreciate your help so much. Debbie
I can only imagine!
Bennetts was on Green Lane in Small Heath. Do you know anyone that would know anything about them? I am hitting a brick wall and need to punch through on my research! Just plain stuck!
What a great story, Izzy! I live in America and am doing ancestry research for a friend. Did you know any of the folks that worked at Bennett’s butchers on Green Lane in Small Heath?
Does anyone remember a woman who worked at the Custard House by the name of Helen Clarkson? Or do you all recall someone who worked at Bennett’s Butchers who often drank at the Custard House? Possibly last name Watts?
Do you know any of the men who worked at Bennetts on 4th in Brum? Do any of these names ring a bell in the early to mid 70s - Hobbs, Watts, or first names Roy, Gary or Fred? Working on ancestry. Thanks so much. Debbie
I see a Gas House Pub referenced in this thread. Does anyone recognize the name Barry Hobbs (1938-2002)in connection with this pub? This is for research on family’s ancestry and any info at all would be much appreciated.
