    I attended Denis Road Secondary Modern when we moved lock, stock and barrel to Sparkhill Commercial early 60's I spent the last couple of years there before leaving school at 15 In 1964. The quirky thing was the playground on the roof.

    Thompsons and next door to the right a green grocers, then a bit of waste ground and the entrance to our yard where I lived at 8/91. Next to that Coley's the grocer which was very modern with glass counter and a bacon slicer which I longed to have a go with. Happy memories.

    Burdens ice cream was to die for, it had a taste all of it's own.     Born in Priestly Road in 1949, I was christened in this church. I never new the correct way to pronounce it. Aga-thas or Agathas, perhaps someone can solve a 70 year old conundrum!
