We lived in Lozells, my dad worked at Great King Street, Lucas. I always remember the parties. I remember collecting pippa dolls, loved them, they were all ethnicities and had lovely costumes to collect. Wish I had kept them all.

    Queens Head Steelhouse Lane

Are any of the regulars from The Queens Head, Steelhouse Lane here? Remember the lock ins and the juke box. What is it like now? I know many of the staff from around the law courts and the general hospital were regulars there. My dad was one of the regulars in the 60's 70's and 80's till the...

Yeah, I always called them uncle Ron and Auntie Lil. I remember when Ron passed away, which was sad. He was fun, I remember him hanging the hose pipe over the fence and turning it on us when we were on our way to the loo, down the end of the garden. I think he kept pigeons too. Auntie Lil...

    Bomb Pecks

I remember fine fayre, 'where you can be fair to your family, and your purse' the ad said. It was our local supermarket where we would shop every Friday. My friend who lived in Chain Walk was Sharon Davies, her dad was a postman. We stayed friends for years after moving, but lost touch over time.

    Wilton Street Lozells

During the 1970's I lived in Wilton Street, Lozells. We lived at 238, next door to Lil and Ron Hardy. I remember playing in the play area we all knew as 'the dragon', in Bennett Street. It was a solid stone dragon shaped thing, we would climb on, slide down, crawl through and hide in. There...

    Bomb Pecks

Did anyone play on the bomb peck in Lozells, just behind st Pauls Church, backing onto Bennetts street? I lived in Wilton Street during the 70's. I had friends living in Bennetts Street and Chain Walk who used to play there. And there was that little play area called the dragon, health and...
