I am researching the Foundries of BMC and British Leyland and looking for anybody who worked at or visited the Foundry at North Works, Longbridge, particularly late 70s or 80s. I'm trying to discover what it was casting and when it closed.

Sorry just seen this, do you think Block and Head castings produced at the North Works Foundry were machined at North Works before being sent to the Engines Assembly at East Works?

Do you know if there was also a Machine Shop at East Works and if so did it receive castings from other Foundries?
