    Hockley Hill

Was the place to go to for odds and ends - both in early 1960's when living in Little King St & in 1990-20010' ish when working in Key Hill Cemetery. My eldest brother had a Saturday job there in 64-5, and popped in when in Brum early 2000's - still knew where to find everything in the hardware...

    Hockley Hill

Popped up to Harry Smiths last year - and was surprised to see it closed and empty. Had not been since Covid 0- which I assumed was thefinal nail in the coffin. Little King Street Hockley

Hi Bartet, chatting with my sister at the weekend, I realised they were the Morris Family at 81! Strange how memory plays you up! He was a coal miner at Handsworth Colliery. His skin was ingrained with the coal dust. If 44 was still standing in Jan 1966, it must have just been about to be...

HI Lyn, hanging on - waiting for warmer weather. A lot of Wheeler st was still there when we left, but But to the left Guest St, Gt King St, New John St West, Bridge St, Little King St was devastated. The Peoples chapel stood alone, The White Horse pub similar, St Saviours had gone, Farm St...

    Wheeler Street Lozells

That is how it looked in 1966 when we left Little KIng St (but further left of the picture). 2 Occupied and 2 unoccupied terraced Houses) HHiroshima type landscape standing alone with the White House Pub alone across the way. Before they realised they were demolishing faster than rebuilding...

    Erdington

Happens too often nowadays, how about taking the license of the driver who does not know how high is load is, or remove the operators license or a hefty fine to the Company for not training their drivers in height measurement? One day all those delayed by such stupidity will follow the...

    Little King Street Hockley

Must have been "temporarily" repaired They used put Tis Bars through the building to keep the walls straight. Used to see a big S or X on the wall out of steel on front and back. Certainly occupied in the early 60's.
