    Surname misspelt

    My 3x grandfather was John Hanson (1828-1903) married Hannah Phillips in 1849 and ran Spring gardens pub in Floodgate St. I believe his father was Joseph Hanson/Anson (1791-1850) and mother Hannah Westwood. Can anybody shed any light on the surname spelling and am I on the correct family...

    Does anyone have any information or photo of the Spring Gardens pub in floodgate street late 1800/1903.My 2xgreat grandfather was the publican from 1876 until he died in 1903 ( supplied by mike gee).Was the postal address no 14? regards Frank

    Old Pubs in Floodgate St

    Does anyone have any information on two pubs in Floodgate St,the Old Leather Bottle and the Three Crowns,both of which were demolished around 1910. I think my great,great grandfather John Hanson was the landlord of one of them in 1881. regards Frank Hanson
