    Lozells Street Mission Church

Thank you Viv for all the work you have put into this subject, I find it so interesting. What I do find confusing is looking at your latest map and the numbers of the houses right opposite the Church, 114 onwards, and my Auntie living at No. 92, yet I still cannot remember the Church.

    IN OUR GARDEN 2023

As they say Steve, "That's the way the cookie crumbles". Love your photos of Mr. Bumble Like a number have said, we have had an influx of Magpies this year, and whilst we had quite a number of blackbirds and other smaller ones, they now seem to have deserted us. The pigeons are regular...

Thornley & Knight Ltd Bordesley Green Rd

I always used to go to T & Ks for Tekaloid to paint my old bangers. It was wonderful stuff and you could never see a brush mark. Folk always thought I had sprayed the cars. All the Birmingham buses were hand painted using Tekaloid

    Lozells Street Mission Church

Thanks so much Viv for the info. and photos. Memory is such a strange thing isn't it. I can still remember the stone above saying Trafalgar place and often wondered why is was called that. Yet I still cannot remember the Church. Perhaps because we always visited from the Lozells Road end...

I had an aunt who lived in Lozells St., Olivier Wiggin and we visited her many many times, but I still can't remember seeing the Church. I would appreciate it if someone can tell me exactly where...

You made a good job of that shrub Janice. Steve, you are making me so jealous with your lovely display. We have a good show of flowers on the larger plants but little on the smaller stuff. What feed do you use?

    Market Hall 1835 - 1963

The Market hall used to have a roof until it was bombed. I used to go every Saturday with Mom into town and visit the Market Hall every week. Then one Saturday we went and found it had been bombed, I think the night before. I can't remember what specific items we went there for.

    WW1 postcards

Only just come across this thread this morning. Only last week in our lunch club I was talking to a lady about the many letters and lovely post cards Dad sent to Mom during his service in the First World war. Mom had a very large brown leather suitcase full of them. We, as children were told not...
