I had an ancestor that was a spoon polisher and another that was a purse maker.

Maybe not in Brum but this year I visited a relative in a country that's in the EU and she didn't have running water, she had an electric pump on the well and obviously had the internet !

When some good weather coincides with time off work I'm going to print that off to take with me and try and take the same photo. It would be an interesting project to do the same for the other old photos where possible.

Whereabouts in Digbeth is this ? Are all those buses on the right the coach station ?

My dad worked there from 70s to 80s, think he worked on combine harvester parts but I could be wrong !

I've been playing around with Photoshop and noticed there is a tilt shift effect. This is often used on TV at the moment and makes scenes photographed from above look like models. Heres a quick one of brum. Click on the image to make it a bit bigger.

Does anyone know how old The Clock pub is (Bickenhill) ? Its now closed and soon to be demolished for the airport runway.
