That's the one David.. I was only 5 yrs out ha! So, 1913 map showing no houses in that portion of Kingsbury Rd. By 1917 No. 441 plus others were already built. They were owned by Dunlop to meet the needs of their management team (the houses with bay windows) coincidentally the house numbers...

Interesting map... the letter 'e' in Birches is I think the Farm entrance which may have become Birches Green Rd. The later OS Map around 1908 I think shows it more clearly as well as the Farm buildings (in my photo) and the position of the pond.

I take your point that the farm'land' is now occupied by the school then yes!

No mate.. if you were the photographer of that picture the school would be on your right.. the farm buildings in the distance are what is now the junction of Birches Green Rd and Kingsbury Rd. No. 441 is approx midway between Firtree Rd and Birches Green Rd :-)

Another photo in Kingsbury Rd... this time from the rear of No. 441 facing toward holly Lane. Don't bother with the people in the pic.. the interesting part is you can see the farm buildings... the barn and hayricks and in the distance the farmhouse. The farmhouse 'entrance' is in what is now...

In my opinion: It's a blooming eyesore now! It would have been better left as a shell like the old Coventry Cathedral..

Just a quick look at the MI listings appear to show a number of Ryland Graves at St Barnabas plus one at St Peter & St Pauls in Aston (Aston Parish Church)

I have just had a look around the graves from the Church down to the entrance in Moor End Lane and have noticed that a great many of the memorials have a white paint mark and a little white sticker attached.... anyone know what that is supposed to indicate?
