Clement Arms, Bordesley - 30 Coventry Rd Small Heath, Birmingham, B10 Not to be confused with the one in New Town Row. There used to be lots of pubs from the start of the Coventry rd up to the Blues ground,most have now gone.Strangely this one tucked away has survived.

Sack of potatoes,10 Gosta Green, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 7ER Always associated with Aston University.Seems to be still a popular venue out of term too. Anyone got memories to share?

Funny thing,but our family owned the tyre retailer at the constitution hill side of Livery st,H.Botterill tyres,later rebuilt and named Midland Tyres.I'd regularly park there and walk to town....and yes that street could be boring lol. Here's a few pics from there.

Was just wondering Lyn,when about was this pic taken? My guess would be mid 50s to mid 60s...but that is only a guess.

Out of interest why did they close and demolisg the good Companions? It's a big building,and should have had a future if managed correctly.

It was one of those pubs you'd visit just to see the longest bar in england. When I worked in the Tysley Brit some of the younger element would use it for the odd night out,they'd start in the Brit,then hit the Swan and the New Inns.Possibly adding the Wagon and Horses as well. It couldn't...

The bay window,doubled the size of the house lol. I used it in late 80s,tidy,but nothing special.The last time I used it was 1989,Allan Evans of the villa popped in on his testimonial rounds. By and large it was a quiet pub,its position has been helped no end by the growth of 'city living'.
