The Emily Arms was situated on Emily Street (corner of Emily St and Dymoke St). The original Victorian pub was demolished and replaced with a new pub of the same name. Later known as The Hideout, it is now in use as an Islamic centre.

I saw this photograph years ago and it has been mentioned here. Took me a while to track it down but I have. It shows a US military policeman standing guard outside what is now Pheasey Library / community centre. If anyone has more information about it, I'd love to know.

Saw the demolition in progress today coming from the Fish Market. The pub was 'The Royal George'.

I'v posted this photograph of The Winsor in Cannon St from 1976 previously, sadly it only shows only the pub sign (which was the M & B plastic 'box' common at the time. Hopefully I'll find a photograph that shows the actual pub itself.

Can anyone provide me with a list of Davenport's pubs? Two in particular have been driving me mad. 1. What was the name of the Davenport's pub close to St Andrews (I have a feeling it was near Garrison Lane). 2. Was there a Davenport's pub near the bus routes 14, 93, 94 or 55 within a radius...

The pub was called The Punch Bowl, it was a Bank's pub who later renamed it The Unspoilt by Progess. Can't find any photographs for it yet.

This is only the second photograph I have found, taken around 1984.

The lounge at the Needless Alley entrance did have a tartan carpet but you're quite correct in saying the downstairs lounge at The Golden Eagle also had a tartan carpet.
