    Water Street

Wondered if anyone has a map showing 13 Court Water St (off Livery St) in the late1800s? My maternal grandfather was born there in 1891. Thanks in advance.

    Family Tree Maker 2012

Hi Shortie, at the moment I only have 1 huge file. I agree that it would be preferable to split into individual name files but haven't looked at doing that yet. Probably over the Christmas hols!

    Family Tree Maker 2012

I agree with Shortie, it's simple to import data from earlier versions. We've recently bought a laptop and both Chris and I have copied our two FTM data onto a USB stick and loaded it onto the laptop - easy! I also imported the old one into 2011 on my PC similarly.

    Family Tree Maker 2012

Helen, I've used FTM for years and about 6 months ago upgraded to 2011, partly because they gave away 6 months free membership to Ancestry. (They've recently emailed me to say I can extend the free period until Jan or Feb, so I have!). Although the screen is very different to the older versions...

Carruthers, I remember the Greyhound well, too well! It was always a good starting point before we went down to the nurses' block at the hospital to find a good party.:emmersed:

Weather : past adverse weather in Birmingham

The only one about the snow of that winter is this. It was taken in our back yard in Bromford Lane. I was born in November 1946 and my parents were forever telling me about the bad snows at that time. It looks like it didn't worry me at the time of the photo, I'd probably had a bellyfull of...

Beaufort Cinema Ward End / Washwood Heath

Thought I'd re-post these 3 pics. I imagine they were on the original thread. I think this last one is supposed to be around 1975. Incidentally, look at the advert on the left of the 1st pic. "Buffalow Puppy Cakes"! I imagine it wasn't some delicacy for humans to enjoy but some sort of...

Woops, sorry Chris. Obviously a tricky wing half like Allan Campbell.

Blimey Chris, he's a big tall lad isn't he? What position does he play? Trevor Smith type centre half?

ELO while working on my PC

Nice one Wendy. Trouble with listening to music on YouTube is you leave off the work and just keep following links. I'm on The Eagles at the moment!

ELO while working on my PC

Working hard on stuff today and I've been going through "My Music" I have on the computer. This LP, "Out of the Blue" (whoops, showing my age!) has been on most of the afternoon. It's still up there for me with UB40, loads of Ska, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Ry Cooder, MJQ and lots more. I'd like to...
