    Nice one Phil, here's a pic from approx the same view from 1965. The cottages on your photo, just before Rollasons is where my "lot" first lived when my Great Grandfather first came to Birmingham from Warwick looking for work in 1864. My Grandfather was born there in 1886.

    Hi Stitcher, the man leading the horse with the boat is/was "Caggy" Stevens from the Black Country and was still working a "butty" in 1989. BTW, have you got the same book as me? "Birmingham's Working Horses"?
