    No birds in my garden....

I have a great many varieties of birds in the garden though sadly there is one less thanks to a Sparrow hawk. I wish the pigeons would find somewhere else to do their coo-cooing. !

    Home made traditional food

My wife used to bake for the WI & makes yummy cakes, but no way can i persuade her to make my favourite ( Rock buns ) I think that she thinks rock buns are not becoming a cake maker of her calibre. ( Hope she doesn`t read this ) I recently bought a Ninja foodi dual zone airfryer & i shall have a...

    fish and chip shops

Processed cheese is a big no no. I live near the sea so the fish is good & fresh, but i reckon chips fried in oil is no match for chips fried in lard. And don`t forget the yummy faggots & mushy peas. I haven`t a clue what they put in faggots & probably best not to know !

    Where was your first holiday?

On a charabanc trip to Ross on Wye fishing. I seem to remember a curtained off area with a bucket, for the ladies. The men went behind a hedge when the bus stopped.

I use a 7ltr pressure spray with a small amount of fairy washing up liquid. It`s able to spray underneath the leaves & also able to reach a good height. Works a treat for me & better than using pesticides.

    What was the best Generation

Can you imagine todays kids lining up for inspection by the nit nurse or holding out a hand for the swish of the cane when they`ve been naughty or having cod liver oil shoved down their throats.. Lets bring back national service & tell Adolph Putin where to stick his hammer & Sycle ( they don`t...

    The English Language.

I watched an episode of MASH last night. ( Mobile Army Surgical Hospital ) Very popular in the 70`s & still just as funny today. Colonel Blake accused someone of trying to gaslight him, so i guess the term gaslight has been around for some time.

It sounds gross Stokkie, or is that 144 or maybe my income. I`m confused .com. Btw Stokkie, you remind me of my favourite teacher in my final year at Slade road university?

    The English Language.

Perhaps we should all speak a universal language ( Esperanto? ) Maybe that will stop the French from complaining too many speak English. I did try speaking French in France ( where else ) but they looked at me like i was daft, one even asked me if i was German ( A language i could get by on )...

Bells on bicycles. We often walk around our local reservoir which is also used by cyclists. When a bike approaches from behind, instead of a nice melodic bell telling you to move over, you get someone yelling " coming through". At least they do say thank you.

Basins with left & right taps. I hate the modern basins with just one tap in the middle, always banging my head on the damn thing, & a cabinet above the basin is just as bad. Maybe it`s just clumsy me !

It never rains but it pours & then they say it`s the wrong kind of rain. There is far too much concrete these days & there is nowhere for the rain to go, hence we have floods.

Who pinched my cherries?. Walked up the garden this morning to find all my cherries gone ( there wasn`t many in the first place ) They were ( I thought ) securely netted, but i suspect a Blackbird has found it`s way thru the netting & enjoyed scoffing the lot but as my wife said, they`ve gone...

    First Driving Lesson

Good luck with learning to drive young`un. My latest car is an automatic & i love it, no more fiddling around with gears. I took my test in 1960 in a one ton lorry with a snatch gearbox, & failed miserably. Aced it the second test. I should imagine driving in Brum is not a lot of fun
