Thanks for the photos Viv. Sad sight as I remember the pub when it was thriving in the 40/50s. It was my Dad's local.

Considering the state that the pub had deteriorated into it was no big surprise, but very sad to see for those of us who remember it when it was a friendly and thriving little pub. Not that I ever drank in there but my Dad did! He would have been shocked to see the state it had got into.

I have to agree with you Shortie. I used to walk passed all these houses on my way to and work on Hockley Hill back in 1954, and it was so much nicer then than it is today. I haven't been back for a while but the area was unrecognisable last time I was there. Judy
