Yes I used to type up on Banda sheets back in the late 50s/early 60s. I worked as a temp and was sent to most of the big firms in the area. I mostly remember using the Banda sheets at GKN in Smethwick where I went to regularly. The sheets made your fingers purple.

I remember the paternoster lifts at the old Aston University. You had to jump on and off pretty quickly!

The smell of a privet hedge always takes me back to my childhood. Everyone seemed to have them years ago, and whenever I walk past one and smell the perfume of the leaves, I am transported back to Handsworth when I was young.

That is such a sad story Paul. I remember your Mom vaguely from when I was a little girl. She must have been devastated to lose your sister likek that.

Paul, I also had Whooping Cough in 1947. I remember having to stay in bed for 7/8 weeks with it and becoming delirious at times.
