Playing about with a macro lens I spotted this tiny insect. When enlarged some 300X it's yellow and black somewhat like a ladybird!

This comment struck a chord, twenty five years ago we came to North Devon on holiday and we are here now. If the windows are open we can hear the sea, just as noisy as the M42 in Hopwood, the seagulls make a mess of the car if it left out of the garage.

Mike, in 1940's my great grand parents lived in a exactly similar house on the corner of Medlicott Rd and Abbotsford Rd.

My parents married Sept '39. and looked at houses around here, from what I recall them saying the houses were substantially discounted as war had been declared.

When I first lived near there in 1940's there was a Manor House Rd and a Bilton Grange Rd. At that time BCFC players lived in this area Elmay Rd. though soccer player's houses were not so grand as their present day counter parts.

In 1950's 60's there were playing fields at the rear of St Bernards Grange, can't remember who played there, could have been Hardy Spicer but not sure. Langham Close must have been cut when the houses were built, the "Grange" was always on Barrows Lane "back in the day".

In 1960's a friend lived in nearby Skelcher Rd. From the front it appeared that each house had it's own garage but in fact there was one area behind the two doors which they used to park their cars.

The safety officer at GKN had previously been a fireman who had attended the Halford fire, I remember him telling us that opening up, I thought he said roof lights had allowed oxygen in to feed the fire.

Remember back in 1970's a timber yard at Digliss Dock, is this the same. I had the "Fink/Fan trusses" for our bungalow made there.

Surely it's the Beehive where they both worked?
