A current view and 1950s map of what was Millicent's, No. 85 is Greggs, No.86 is First Personnel so I would think the shop is now occupied by The Royal British Legion (well in 2019 it was by 2022 it was empty).

On the 1911 and 1921 census there is a Gladys Davis at 41 Villa Street

Hi and welcome to the forum. 5 bk 37 would refer to a court of houses which was probably accessed between house numbers 37 and 39. If you can give the year of the census I can probably supply a map.

Looking at the 1950s map certainly Nos. 5 and 3 were quite large houses. The 1834 map shows the retreat and a few houses, with no houses on Sutton Street whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if these had survived until the 1950s, looking at the dilapidated condition of the houses in the pictures...

Hi Lyn, the road across the top is Suffolk Street, the synagogue is on Blucher Street and the street to the left of the synagogue is Severn Street

There are no property numbers on the 1868 Kelly's but some names seem to occur in the same order as the 1878 PO Directory.

Photo showing No. 9, there are a few other images of Whitehead road at www.leroux.co.uk/aston but this is the only one I can find showing No. 9. I'm not sure if the house numbering was different in 1870, I will check the 1871 census.
