Earliest image showing how the RHS of Marshall Street would have looked (a few houses already demolished however).

Same view as post #31 but taken much earlier before BTR building was built, probably mid 1950s.

This next image was labelled Davenport's Garage and was demolished in 2020, if anyone can provide provenance to this ownership/occupation I would appreciate it.

Next image. I can't find BTR industries in Marshall Street in Kelly's up to 1973.

Original cobbled entrances to the factories are still there. Looking at Kelly's through the different years there are very few records of the factories, I suspect they either changed hands regularly or were left derelict for many years.

Glass Works still there too but you would hardly recognise it.

Almost like a ghost image by the entry.

I just found this note on the eBay listing so I think you are right Lyn, I won't be looking any further. AI strikes again.

Perhaps the photographer was actually standing in Guidford Street and this was a side lane. Having said that looking at the 1889 map I can't find a situation that fits the bill. The house to the far left seems to be identical.

I'm sitting on the fence at the moment there were some quality properties around the top end of Guildford Street in the late 1800s, e.g. Guildford House. There are a few possibilities on the 1889 map. It's a brilliant image whatever the outcome of our search.

The photo attached shows, what I think, is the only area of Guildford Street where this property could have been. The lintel above the bedroom on the far left image is very similar to that of the photo in query.

Thanks Lyn, I hadn't realised that the street had been blocked at one end (as shown in your link), it actually is marked as such on the 1950s and 1889 maps.

It looks as though they were always separate streets, certainly on the map of 1892-1914

On the 1861 census there is a William Smith (Sawyer) at 111 Great Charles Street, may be remarried wife 25 years old

Could this be them in Leamington
