The Oasis Market in 3D Virtual Reality

I remember it well when visiting in the 90's. As said it was a very enclosed place and warren like. A great place to go for the latest indie clothes (I got many patches and badges from there). Catered for indie fans, mods, rockers, new gen punks. Haven't been near it since about 2005. But many a...

    Happy new year all.

    Rivers: River Cole

I know that view well. On the way to and from school in the mid 90’s we often walked along it and crossed a narrow risky dam type concrete crossing (just outside old police station). Also great memories walking from Meriden park along it and under the m6 towards coleshill. Great times.

    Cambridge Street car park

Thankfully not. There was talk a few years ago it was going to get knocked down and turned into flats but thanks to an online petition and a little help from Birmingham city council it was saved. How long it will last though who knows? But it’s always busy when I go so business appears good (at...

    Cambridge Street car park

It is indeed. I’ve had many a good night (and still do) in the 90’s at the Flapper pub on the right. Great for rock music!

St Patrick’s RC school. Chelmsley wood.

Hi all. Quite the long shot but I wondered if anyone on here went to or knew anyone from St Patrick’s in Chelmsley wood. I was there from 85-93. I have such top memories from here and had some great mates and teachers. Sadly the school is gone (burnt down and cleared). I always wanted to go back...

    Trooper Lichfield

This is still here (and called the Trooper). It’s now more of a pretentious restaurant than a pub though. The character is long gone.

    Dogs on the Metro

I don’t have dogs but I am a dog lover. But I also know they can be unpredictable when put into situations they’re not used to. I think the easy solution is that when using a tram they must me made to wear a muzzle.

    Birmingham buses

I’m no expert and I’m sure gas was used on vehicles during the war.. but isn’t that effectively just the equivalent of dragging a bomb behind the bus?

    fish and chip shops

It’s quite amazing how a night on the drink can make a 1 star chippy taste amazing. That place doesn’t look very inviting from that pic though

    Queens Drive City Centre

Great pictures. I think I know the answer to this already but is there anything left still from these pics? A bit of wall maybe?

    Fox and Goose/ Hodge Hill.

It is still there.. it’s a bit shabby these days so could do with a refurb. But a decent enough boozer with a local crowd you can have a laugh and some banter with.

The lack of change is impressive.. and still called Stans Cafe!

    Marston Green Hospital

I was born there in 82 and lived near it till my mid 20’s. Played on the site after it closed/before they knocked it down and then had friends live in the new houses built right on top of it.
