    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

Birmingham New Street was originally two stations in one separated by Queen's Drive Not strictly true, the Midland Railway built the one side of Queen Drive, but New Street station as a whole was classed as a "joint station" after the Midland Railway side was made and there was a joint station...

    Canals of Birmingham

Even the late Ian Langford had difficulty in deciding whether it was Dunstall or Tunstall. In his book on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal he calls the bridge 63 as Dunstall as the area is known as Dunstall, but admits even the First Ordnance survey records the bridge as Tunstall and the...

    Canals of Birmingham

Those who walk the canals of Birmingham may have come across the Go Boat, which is electrically powered. Their base is at Brindley Place opposite the ICC. Boat hire for an hour is not cheap, but a group could make the experience cost effective. Training for those who steer the craft seems basic...

Well seemingly not during the General Strike of 1926 ! But the locomotive looks like at 5P 4F 2-6-0 which was a type introduced in 1926 and built in batches thereafter. Rail enthusiasts called the type "crab".

When the trams run they provide a better service to Bilston, Wednesbury, and West Bromwich. For those who catch the 74 or 75 bus the traffic on the road can delay buses and the journey becomes akin to purgatory. As to buying new trams, the contracts were probably in place for a new supply for...
