In this 1889 map surveyed in 1887 there is a Board PH, in the middle of Temple Row?,
at that time the Lamp was at 73 Bull Street, but although marked Board PH it is not listed with the Pubs & Inns.

I think Handsworth Grammar School opened in 1862.
Between 1886 & 1893 Grove Lane was still a narrow country lane.

Ernest Dyche died in 1973, Ernest Malcolm Dyche died in 1990, I am Malcolm's step-son. In 1990 I gave most of the photos still at the studio to the Birmingham Libraries (including I think about 10,000 of glass negatives).
