    Thanks Carole for finding that out. She must have had a very hard life....after marrying in 37 she and Frederick had 2 children during the war when he was away.In 1941 both children died within days of each other. I think Violet had family in Shirley place so hopefully she was helped a lot...

    It isnt the 2 step verification rubbish is it ?....I dont log off so dont have to do it everytime but if I go on my wifes she gets a code and then I get one when I go back to my account....

    Great thread....just read the lot...Phew. Interested as the Wife's Mother used to say about an Uncle who was a Boxer but I havent been able to find anything about one. She was born in 1923 and family names were Butcher and Bayley - all around Ladywood and Digbeth/Balsall Heath/Small Heath.

    On the 1st map it says 2333...nowadays this is Kings Green Ave. I lived at the end and my garden border was the old wall of the Workhouse.........also....the soil here was perfect loam.You could grow anything in it.

    I have the £13.99 option but wondered if I saved up my Newspaper searches I could visit Main Library in Brum once a month if it allowed access.

    I have her with and without May in different list i.e. marriage or residing. Also in 1950 an Ivy M Bayley in a back of house with a man and woman in mosely st But as you say no way of knowing if its the correct person.
