    David Bowie in Birmingham

No it's not the same building, first Pic is the guest house still on Mackadown Lane. What I should have made clear is Bowie would probably have played the pub (2nd Pic) not the guest house (1st Pic) as guest house too small.

Chard'e Guest House, 289 Mackadown Lane. Looking at the building, it was probably The Mackadown Pub the band played.

Can someone please confirm if there was a Militaria collectors shop on Station St. late 1960s or early-mid '70s 2 or 3 doors down from The Crown? I seem to remember going there with my Dad and definitely remember going up some stairs to a show/sales room where the owner had a dummy dressed in a...

    commonwealth games village disaster

Hi Keith, The before was far from better, the original entrance was no wider than a entry between terraces, the booking office 'Hall' no bigger than a bathroom and the shops run down or vacant. The new station is better but agreed, certainly not worth £30 Million.

    commonwealth games village disaster

Yes, They did. The row of shops to the left and right of the Old dingy Station entrance were demolished and the larger station concourse / booking area covers the block. I haven't yet seen any Then and Now Pics.

I'm certain that Dr Blackstock's surgery was on the corner of Gladys Road / Coventry Road, huge double fronted Victorian House. I believe its last incarnation was as a Health Centre.
