    Yes Yes loved looking at the toys at Christmas. You could buy fishing rods air rifles you name it you could buy most things. There were probably rules and age laws but would like a look back through one . Sort of an equivalent to todays online shopping .

    The Post Office think that is pressure for the festive time of the year think of the paper boys and girls from years ago delivering the Sunday papers with all their extra magazines inside .     The mother in law always kept her spare buttons in an old sweet tin . They always had multiple uses and kept everything tidy.

    Got that tin from Marks last year and a musical Christmas tree a few years before also with shortbread in The musical chimes sadly do not work anymore but still looks nice.

    I have inherited an old tobacco tin with screws in from my late father in law . Cough sweets and mint tins all were handy to keep bits and pieces in.

    Yes remember they were popular . Try TK Max have spotted some before and purchased them . Sometimes pot luck if you find them but you never know. Quality Street at Christmas was another one.

    Totally agree with you. I was driving up by the NEC on Thursday and the devastation caused to our countryside by HS2 just angers me. You are right even if there is a public consultation it makes no difference because the go ahead was already given not just months but years in advance.
