    fish and chip shops

    When I taught in Plaistow in London's East End, the local chip shop used to sell the pupils half a loaf, hollowed out and filled with chips. It was very popular at lunchtime.

    The Pig Bin

    We had a pigbin in Rectory Rd Sutton Coldfield in the 1950s It was kept in the back garden with the dust bin and the "pigman" used to come with his truck and empty it. I do remember the smell!
