I remember this cafe very ell Cookie55. Yes, it was a very old looking place. Thankfilly, even though I lived next door, I never entered the cafe. Just did not look very clean.

The cafe you mention Cookie55, was this the one at the bottom of Villa Street, by nursery road. If so, I used to live next door to it in the early 70's. They used to throw their empty beans & tomato can over the wall into our garden every day.

I totally agree Lynn. Birmingham is getting depressing, but still love visiting the Bullring ect.

That must have been awful for you Tina. Yes, we had bullying at Hunters Hill when I was there from 1965 to 1969, but nothing on this scale.If Miss Buckley had not retired from Hunters Hill in 1969, she would have been headmistress of both schools & would certainly have taken action against that...

They have improved security too, so that probably why customers have changed, also a lot more space between rails & shelves.

I can see where you are coming from as have visited the original store & saw the mess but the staff did nothing. At the new store, if anything goes on the floor, a member of staff picks it up & takes it away. The new Primark is so much cleaner.

There is one primark store I can quite honestly say, have brilliant staff, & that us the New Primark in Birmingham. Much cleaner than the old store, & staff are always helpful
