    S&U Stores Edgbaston Street

Yes, I think I remember the place, when I worked in Town back in the early 70s some of us went for a lunchtime meal there as there was a cafeteria inside. The building was round the back of the Bullring on the Markets side if I remember? Other than that, I don't really know what sort of place it...

Yes, that wasn't so good, I wonder why she opposed it, you wouldn't have expected that view from the sort of lady she otherwise appears to be.

    Lee Child

My manager at work was a big fan of the Jack Reacher books. I must confess I didn't know the author was a Brummie at the time or I would have proudly boasted about it!

    Birchfield Road Perry Barr

I really don't know I'm afraid, although I would have travelled past on the bus into Town, I lived towards the Great Barr side of Perry Barr, I can't remember what that end looked like now. Maybe someone else on the Forum can help?

    Birchfield Road Perry Barr

Number 142 looks as if it was towards the Newtown/Lozells end of Birchfield Road. There are no houses on that side of the road now for some distance, it's mainly green space. At a guess I would say it was around where Wilson Road meets Birchfield Road?

That's fine by me, they are not my photos, I'm never quite sure of the etiquette of these things but I always mention the source if it's stated.

Ah yes, very familiar with that view! My Junior School in the background on the left and the shop where my mother worked before she married, Mrs Wilks haberdashery, next to Dodds. I went in there with her many times when I was small. I wonder who the car belonged to?!

    Bull Ring 1930s - 1950s

I remember Pimms Pets in the old Bull Ring Market Hall, my mother used to love going to have a look there, I think she bought one of the tortoises we had from them. I can't remember exactly what other sorts of animals they had.
