    Winjew ? and Bark !

Oh yes GG Jean, that's another one...a 'mare'....my Mom still uses that one altho not too often. In her books it doesnt seem quite as serious a term of abuse tho as a 'bark'!! You know, I'm sure she's oblivious to all these subtle meanings, I reckon she'd be horrified if she knew!

    Winjew ? and Bark !

Aha! I've always wondered what, why & where that term came from.....it all falls into place now. If my Mom was really really angry (we're going back years & years now).....& I mean vexed, perplexed & most peturbed, she would use the term 'bark'. I wonder if she actually knew that meaning that...

    Bolton Road, Bordesley

These 2 photos perhaps show how the terraced houses were at the back of the main Bolton Road & also the sort of little houses that they were. The B & W pic of my Mom was taken in the front garden & you can see the main houses behind her, The other is of my Auntie in the front garden of their...

David........I've looked out the long school photo & it is of June 1947. I've scanned it in 3 chunks & have tried to stitch it....but it does make a long image to post on here. The girls seem to outnumber the lads, the girls are mostly on the left hand side (altho there are some on the right...
