In case anyone is interested, YFO 681 is an age-related number issued by Bournemouth in 1996.

    old car snaps

Well done again, John! As for the registration, I am quite certain it's EOJ, and would plump for 287 though it just might be 297. Whichever, the date of registration was late September 1938. Can Johnfromstaffs please tell us what this car is? Thank you!

Petrol pumps & filling stations of the past

Obviously the photo is fuzzy and grainy ... but I'm having problems persuading myself that this plate reads JOP. Is there any other possibility (such as JOC)? I don't possess a Burley's fleet list.

    Is This Your Motor?

John: this is my final request! There are, I think, still a few cars on this forum that have escaped your expert attention. May I please ask you: #1 UOH 178: do you agree this is a Consul? #10 I have requested elsewhere to know what the number is; what about the make and model of car? #16 ROM...

    Is This Your Motor?

John: your knowledge of cars is awesome. By contrast, I know about registrations but not nearly so much about the cars. I would love to enlist your help if at all possible. For the past 30+ years I have been compiling an album of photographs of pre-1964 Birmingham-registered vehicles. I have...

    Is This Your Motor?

Small correction if I may: I agree Les (L.H. Newall)'s book is slightly ambiguous here, but in fact C was completed to 9999 in 1915, with the sole exception of 2100-2999 which were issued later (in 1921 as you say). I agree, C 719 was probably 1905.

    Is This Your Motor?

May I correct you? LOC 433 is January 1951 (not July).

    Is This Your Motor?

I'm still trying to work out how this forum works. I wrote a reply "Please does anyone know what the registration number of this car was?"; that comment referred to #10, where the copyright notice obscures the number plate. Thank you!

    Is This Your Motor?

Disaster: the copyright disclaimer obscures the number plate! Does anyone know what the registration number of this one is?

    car reg look up please

Just found your post so I shall sort you all out! Closest is Lloyd: yes, DBH-B was issued by Buckinghamshire C.C. in August/September 1964. It was followed (not by EBH, but) by DKX-B in September. Yes Luton is in Bedfordshire, and yes it did issue XD (and XE) registrations in the 10-year...

    What happened to Allenways

Greetings! I am new to this forum. Love the photo of AOF 191 - please, where do I find the "fine collection of photographs collected by Andrew Roberts"? Thank you! Five minutes later: sorry, found it, you must mean his book Travel Allenways Always - I'll order it. Thanks.
