I used to work in the garage with the old man learning the ropes unfortunately I was offered a job working for the gas board as apprentice mechanic for more money
it's been a long time I cannot remember I was only 15 at the time I left him to work at gas board but then they sent me to Coventry technical center I learnt more off the old man than at college
I lived in Lawrence street from 50s until knocked down they were known as back to backs you go to black country museum there back to backs had front and back doors our own toilet was outside you walked out back door and toilet was next to it
I lived in Lawrence street they were classed as back to backs and it was a outside toilet Lawrence street was the second oldest council house's built Duke Street next to it was the first built in 1889
gosta green I lived in Lawrence street in the slums back to backs Birminghams second oldest council house's built in 1800s then you had gem street bishop Ryder street all round the corner from fire station.
