    Aston Hall Road School

Yes, I knew it had been but I only saw the photo a short while ago and it did upset me. I believe the flats built there have also been demolished.

These are the only photos I have found. The first one is our shop in the process of being demolished ☹️

No, that was Mrs Harrison’s shop. Ours was painted red I think and was on the corner across the road from the school.

It would be great if someone could put them on again. I would have loved to see them. I lived in the corner shop in waterworks street and went to Aston Hall Rd school just over the road.

Perry Common Comprehensive School 1964 to 1969

The language lab was brilliant and very good for children who wanted to have a go but were too shy to speak up in class. I didn’t listen to Mr Neal and, like your son, didn’t have any problems in the head exploding department . I think the younger generations are more open to the idea of...

Oh wow! That great…as soon as I saw the names I could see all the faces. The Ribble got stuck in mud once and a couple of us had to pull it but then we couldn’t get back on and had to walk for miles . Remembering more now…there was Mrs Vacher and Miss Fitch (German)…we went to her wedding! Some...

    Aston Hall Road School

I was there 1966-69. Lived over the road in Waterworks Street. Did you know Ivor McGuiness? Lived next door to me and had younger sister Rosie? Would have been there when you were I think. Shame all the photos have gone.

Meant to comment not copy the post sorry. I was on what was probably the last trip the Ribble took as we went under a bridge too far over and scraped the roof. That must have been about 1975. The hostal was Corris. The head was Mr Neal, deputy Mr Conker and Mr Gee was there for many years…such a...

Oh that’s amazing. Tony Casey was a year older than me and I played with his sister Vivien and Christine Twells in the field behind the street. Do you remember the Twells dog Rusty? I did connect with Roderick a while back on friends reunited but that folded. I will have a look. Thanks for that!

Hi, I lived at 68 Twickenham Road but I think after your time. I think I remember Mrs Floyd as she used to help at the school. Did she have a facial injury? I went to Alma Street school and then Twickenham Road but only from 69 to 71. Did you know any of the Murphy, Twells or Caseys?

    Waterworks Street

No never. Michaelwicks54 lived in both streets. I was talking to him about waterworks street as there was no thread visible to me about Waterworks St.

Hi, I lived at 67 Waterworks Street but posted here as when I searched for Waterworks St, all I could see were posts about Bracebridge St and Michaelwicks54 said he lived in Waterworks Street.

    Waterworks Street

Oh my! We took over from the Duffills in 1966. I don’t remember there being a name above the door. Perhaps we covered it over. The McGuinesses lived next door, I used to play in their yard. Ours was covered over to use as storage for the shop. I didn’t see it again after we moved out in the...
