    Really stupid ideas seem to come often to the Birmingham planners....I just bet not many of them grew up in Selly Oak. I did and I am really cross/upset at the very idea of demolishing a perfectly good hospital just for a few more houses.... stupid idea.

    How sad was my first reaction - lived for many years in Bournbrook - My second reaction was 'oh, no, not another housing development.......My third reaction was to be angry with the whole useless project. What an utter waste.

    I remember seeing Julie Christie on stage there and also Derek Jacobi - must look to see if I still have the programmes.....I really loved the old Rep.

    I always had an ambition to go all the way round on the outer circle, it somehow had mystery and magic 'feel' to it. I never managed it - too unusual to try it on my own and none of my friends would go with me....I should have been born a boy obviously.....Joan R.

    Old Birmingham Repertory Theatre

    I loved this place and went often in my late teens. Saw Derek Jacobi and Julie Christie in many and various productions. Missed it a lot when I went away to College and then worked away from Brum permanently....it was a cosy and friendly place. Joan.

    Lots. Lovely teachers esp. Mr Stucky and Miss Hunt. Library duty. As a prefect, standing by the back entrance before afternoon lessons in case anyone came sneaking in, late, that way We had a lot of freedom at that school. I also remember a week long trip to Belgium and a young. male, maths...
