    Would be great to see the old pier renovated, I remember when you could get a boat to Penarth from there in the 60s, to my mind this is what the lottery money should be used for to save this sort of thing from falling into disrepair.

    I was a bus driver in Torbay in the early 90s, and a local was standing on the platform moaning about all the B.....y grockles in Torquay filling the buses especially the Brummies on holiday, but I didn,t answer him, then as I stopped at some traffic lights he asked if I would open the doors so...

    Thanks for that Lloyd and all the photo,s, pleased the Midland Red managed to do a commemorative run for the 50th. anniversary, I remember Mike doing a 40th. anniversary run in 4819.

    Hers a photo of a conductors badge that was issued in the west midlands, the number would have been a lot lower than this though if it was issued in the 1940s

    hI. Mike. Have been up to Weston today to see how the work on the pier is going, there is a barge at the end of the pier with a crane on it loading the steel work, but they can only work on it when the tides in, and it wasn,t this morning as you can see.

    d-day landings

    Great photo,s, I have been 3 times to most of these locations and found it a very rewarding experience, my dad landed at Juno beach on D Day plus 5 with the 7th armoured brigade.

    My great grandparents lived at 76 Lily Road at this time, appears they were very lucky to escape being killed.
