    I went to Grendon Road school starting there in 1942, and it was just as you descibed it, a single story rectangular building standing back a little from the road with the playground behind it, and in those days made of timber. and Amwell Grove is very close to it. John70

    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

    Hi. Jennyann. I think she possibly left in the early 50s, I remember going to see her at the station during the war as a kid, and having a ride on the goods trolleys that were pulled by tractors through tunnells under the platforms and rail lines.
