How interesting Lady P..... I've found another 3 people in 'unconsecrated' ground I wonder what it all means. They seem to have been married in a C of E church. I don't think they would have all committed suicide or changed religion.

Hi I have found an address for a property, 35 Holly Road, Oldbury, and have found that it was to be sold at auction in 1988 at the Midland Hotel, Birmingham by Dixons. Does anyone know if there is anyway of finding anything out about the property please? Kind regards Alison

Interestingly the entry I have found is for Edith Downs a 70 year old woman in Newcastle under Lyme in 1957. She died in Chell Hospital, Stoke on Trent.

Out of interest does anyone know what it means when someone is buried in Unconsecrated Ground? Would it be because of religious reasons?

    National Service

Hi I think my dad did National Service sometime around 1948 as I have found out he returned from Jamaica to Birmingham via Bristol. I have a rough idea of what National Service was but didn't know that you could be posted abroad. Is there anyway of finding more about his time doing National...

    Morris Burials

How interesting. There seem to be quite a few of mine there too. Wish I lived nearer to explore the cemetery and perhaps locate them. I guess in a place like Birmingham there must be quite a few communal gravestones. I guess there could be quite a few dated around c.1919 with the Spanish Flu...

I have found this https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/213179467/elizabeth-callow#view-photo=209085003 Thought that might be the case about the money and being able to afford a gravestone but just thought in that case it would be an unmarked grave. But how did this work? If they all died at...

William Callow, Green Grocer, 104 Holyhead Road, Handsworth 1910-1920s

Thanks for your messages. From what I know on the 1911 census he was married to Pamela (nee Bradley) and they lived at 12 College Street. On the census though he seems to be listed with the same name as his son George Henry Callow.
