    tidy up please

I appreciate the note of thanks. Here's an unsolicited update, just to show what a patriotic background swap might look like.

oh, I assumed his eye colour - if it was brown/dark I can fix that in a jiffy.

Hi Lyn, @Astoness I'm a bit late to the party on this restore, but I think it turned out well. Did this while on a boring IT conference call just now.

    Thomas and Agnes McDonough

I found I had a coincidence with the Peaky blinders show. My great grandfather Thomas moved from Lossiemouth, Scotland to Garrison Lane, living in North Holme. He fought in the great war and was gassed in Ypres. After that, he couldn't work as a labourer and so he became a Bookies runner. So...

    This lady

Thanks. 90% Lightroom, (hand tinting colour takes the most time) but also Paint Shop Pro 17, remini in a bluestacks instance, Runway machine learning online, K-lite media pack (to drop a frame from an AI animated likeness) - sometimes I use faceapp for background swaps when they're requested...

    Hi Lyn, Sure.

Cheers. I do like to restore veteran photos, especially if they're from Birmingham. I've been perfecting skin tone for a while now.

Hi Eric, I think I saw in another thread that this lady might have passed. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully this restored picture at least makes a nice memorial in that case. Cheers

    Restoration

This is right at the limit of being able to extrapolate likeness. It looks like it's a halftone dithered photo taken on an LCD screen (adding pixelation!) of a cracked and damaged, possibly already low-res photo. It was a worthy challenge and I've extrapolated likenesses from about the same...

    tidy up please

It's a still from from an animated computer generated likeness, so he's actually looking slightly away from the camera now. I tried to get the same head position but there wasn't a frame with head and eyes just right. The likeness should be the same. If anything, the process can deepen wrinkles...

Might as well hop to the latest one in the thread since I was skipping back. Also a closeup on gramps with colour

Why stop at colour, why not go for a full Artificial Intelligence, Deep Neural Network, Generative Adversarial Network, colourised likeness!? @Astoness Response to your post here, ta.

    Picture re-touch

Hi Pauline, That's a nice portrait that lends itself to AI likeness upscaling through a Generative Adversarial Network, a type of Deep Neural Network. The colour, and to some extent, the light, I have painted on manually in Lightroom. B19 and B9, represent!

Photo of my Mom in Brum somewhere. Anyone know where?

Amazon is killing them all anyway. House of Frazer here in Edinburgh is on its way out with the closure of Jenners

Photo of my Mom in Brum somewhere. Anyone know where?

Hi Maris, What a lovely picture. My first thought was Paris or Rome, Lewis's should have kept this going. I'd have loved to have gone up there. Very Breakfast at Tiffany's

Can Anyone Tidy This Photo Please
