    A wonderful potted history, thank you, and a fine picture of St Annes School where I was taught 1944-49 under Mr Hughes to my 11+ and so to Central Grammar School. Devon now but a Brummie forever!

    Some wonderful pics. Is the Nechells Junction photo what I knew as "The Cab Stand"?. I used to walk there from Inkerman St to the Co-Op and I think the Home and Colonial Stores. The Doctors were nearby in Ashted Row, and of course "The Flea Pit" a bit further along, my first encounter with Flash...

    I was a 59-64 boy, and already hooked on cars and motorbikes. Who else remembers Mr Hamiltons rivetted Railton, Charlie Paddocks big Wolseley, a Standard flying 9 and Mr Cunninghams Triumph Twin? I was pleased to see "Smithy" mentioned in the staff lists. Anyone recall Mr Hopkins (chemistry)...
