The single deck Leyland Tigers where lively motors, though in my 12 years at Selly Oak i never heard them referred to as Tigers,. The 4 Leyland Olympics at Selly Oak where often nicknamed Geeps/Jeeps. The low bridge at Cadburys necessitated the use of single deckers on the 27 route.

No problem, they where certainly easier to see on the waistrail,particularly when parked in rows in the depot, but the gold lettering was a nice touch.

A small and trivial point, but i think you will find the the numbers on the waistrail where in black. I was at Selly Oak depot when they moved them up from the bottom of one of the side panels and i cannot recall seeing them in gold.

I agree about the colours, this looks great. Most modern colour schemes on PSVs look like the result of someones drug induced nightmare.

Yes JOJ 261. 2261, was stationed in town and operated the Elmdon airport service from the Hall of Memory. It was the only Olympic fitted with a clock inside so that passengers could see by how much they where going to miss their flight by.!
