    Someone on this thread mentioned wimbush doughnuts. The best, I should know I worked at the Acocks Green branch till they closed down. There were 2 shops in Acocks Green, I worked at the one on the corner of Dudley Park Road.

    I wonder if anyone knows what this old building was used for years ago. When I moved to Tyseley it was selling small furniture, mirrors etc. I get the impression it is very old and I'm just curious about it's past.

    Anyone remember this small factory in Tyseley, and where it was? I never worked there myself but knew people who had, and they all said how hard the work was.

    It was, yes. Made 3 pin plugs, large and small electrical switchgear, they made and painted their own metal boxes. That just scratches the surface. Eaton took them over and moved the operation abroad. It's houses and a school now.

    I used to work at Newey Goodman back in the days when people used nappy pins. Eurobrake, Serck and MEM, all are long gone. I was told there were MEM plants in Spring Road and Kings Road, don't know whereabout.

    I also attended this school as did all my siblings, one, the aforementioned Jasper Reeves. I remember Mr Allen, miss cave, Mr cockrell, also Mr gardener with a big bushy beard. Wish I could say they were happy times but alas, no. Harrison barrow closed down in the years I was at Hartfield - 1966...

    Don't remember Crowthers but do remember Jealousy in the Bull Ring Shopping centre, bought all my clothes there. Also Werff by the top of Corporation Street.
