We have now followed the new inner ring road down to New John Street West and Summer Lane and the the Texaco garage , in the process of redevelopment, it gives a general view of the area - not much to add but if you came from this area originally this view may come as a shock

We now move to the other side of the bridge and see how big the building site is - there are barriers and piles of rubble everywhere, if you see whyere the bridge height sign is you can work out where the original road line was.

and a final closer look at the site and we can see in this picture that there is work to both sides of the road and they are loading and departing the other direction too.

Roll 56, first up looking up Avenue Road , to Aston Road North, nothing much to add quite a standard 1990's landscape - nothing left these days as it has been " modernised" even the block of flats in the distance went in 2016 / 2017.

This street has a strange ghostly feel about it - this time non of the properties are boarded up, streets are empty no obvious damage - and there are weeds growing through the pavement - wierd

This time the shop is on the corner of Stretton Street and again any uncovered windows have been broken. Judging by the size of the aerial next door there was a radio amateur living there, the Café sign still exists, but judging by the size of the weeds no one has been around for a while.

This corner shop has little items of interest- below the Kullar News sign is a carved stepped front, historic Embassy sign, ( who would imagine it today), There is a 37 on the door frame - the number of the shop? and we can just make out a Walls ice-cream sign, with Freshly made sandwiches too.

Now this looks like Aston Villas - nicely kept front gardens - privet hedge, wooden gate, small bay windows with sash windows upstairs and both upstairs and down windows have that small row of square windows at the top - shame

Here the demolition has started - what was the rear of the properties is now a sea of bricks as they work down the road removing the single storey rear ( outhouse / WC ?). Not sure what has happened to the middle property as it seems to be missing some bricks half way up the wall.
