    Now looking rather sad for itself, The Summerhill Tavern, former Banks Pub it has an interesting selection of poster for bands of the time. Nice selection of dorways window frames and turrets and a large chimney peeping out from the back.

    Our next picture is taken in Summerhill Road, once a FIAT dealership, this now boarded up property was apparently a Cinema in the 1950's. Everything boarded up and Fly posted in 1992

    Moving a bit further down Monument Road to the corner of Darnley Road and we have the Church of St. Johns and St. Peters, and designed by S.S Teulon built in 1852 - 1854, it was consecrated by the Bishop Of Worcester and built on Ladywood Green a 17th Century Plague burial Ground

    Here we have the Monument Road Baths surprisingly on Monument Road, looking all closed up but it may be the photo, taken in March 1992, seem quiet but it may be because a lot of pictures were taken on a Sunday

    We now have a general view down Waterworks Street , Harold Road onthe left and Perrotts Folly in the distance , the houses on the right remain but those on the corner of Harold Road have been replaced . Remember the old road signs it looks easy to miss and has no light over it either

    Next we have I am told the White House - Gooch Street and Bishop Street again 1960, looking like it is/ has been refurbished, not a hint of branding of any sort , and their is a lack of a lamp on the corner fixing. Nice selction of cars - any colour but has to be black !!

    We are now looking up Bracebridge Street with the Old Vine Pub , its unusual these days to see the mix of shops especially a record shop, next to an Off license next to houses and a pub on the end of the street !! Am I right in thinking there is another pub ( Ansells?) even further up the road?

    This next image is more for the line up of cars- everyone built like a tank and probably each one was a rust bucket. - my paperwork says this is the Mazeppa Inn on Yates Street, I have posted a picture of this pub but this is from a different angle .

    Next we have The King Edward Lichfield Road - I have posted a more modern picture of this place but this is 1941, nice car out the front - can you imagine parking there these days !! Dark painted building but I think it was an M & B thing as I have seen a few pubs in the scheme

    another picture from 1941, this is Stevens Bar in New Street, love everything about this building - the black windows on the left hand side and the massive M & B sign, I am unsure of the side road (to give me more idea of a location ) suggestion?

    Next picture is a bit on the lean but taken in 1941 we will allow that - this is St. Martins Jamaica Row, large imposing building over many floors with a large illuminating M & B sign on the front and a large lamp over the corner entrance.
