The Birmingham Daily Post - Tuesday 16 May and Thursday 25 May 1865 has a small ad placed by a Mrs Richards, Station Inn, Sutton Coldfield, asking for lodgers. I can't find anything earlier.
I've just been through the 106 planning applications for Augustus Road on the BCC website. There is no application for no. 37 (edit: or Vectis, or 'adjoining Norfolk Road'.)

Please, does anyone know anything about this building? Birthplace of Barbara Cartland, among others.
There is some info on line but I can't find any contemporary references, like date of demolition etc.
Comparing it with this picture (post 29) it seems they did a good and quick repair job.
