Hi ...erm i was just under the impression that kids lied about their age to get in the army and fight but as you say he joined as soon as he legally could bless him, and the war was still ongoing in the April of 18 when he joined albeit until November.

so he was born in 1900 so i wonder why he didnt join the forces in 14/15 , I know he was a skilled man he was a welder and sheet metal worker , would that have some bearing on why he didnt go and fight ?

Can anyone tell what happened here , where did the bomb drop , if half of the house was blasted away why isn’t the bus in two pieces , we’re there any casualties involved

mmmmm so he died in july 1918 , 4 years after he was discharged from the army and ironically he died just as the war ended , how awful. Does anyone know what he did inbetween 1914 and 1918 ?

I was wondering if they ever took photos of the recruits when enlisiting them as none of the family know what he looks like because he dies of Spanish flu ?
