My mum bought me my first Ponds pale pink lipstick and face powder from Wonderfull woolies down the Bull ring, it was one of the happiest days of my teenage years

There used to be a chip van at the top of Chipperfield road, lovely on a cold night

Left school at 15 joined Birmingham co-op as a punch card operator ,but was handing out pass books after the Divi was added at first great bunch of girls mostly in our overalls with big white collars ,
