I do not remember a pram race, they did do a parade amongst the traffic I remember our dad putting a few coins in the box. There may have been some prams amongst the parade.

There are actually some good articles to read in the Meccano magazines on this site. Sad thing is most of the articles are targeted to boys and men as in the descriptions. Would not get away with this nowadays.

Hi Sheila, I am not certain what route the no 14 took. I believe Saltley Viaduct crosses both the River Rhea and and the grand union canal.
But there was also the Birmingham & Fazeley canal near to his Street.All are still there. You look them up on google maps. Hope this helps...
